Searching and browsing
From the Full perspective view, the SNOMED CT Spanish Edition can be browsed and searched in the same way as described in for the International Edition.
The SCT Browser functionality is the same whichever Edition is being browsed; the differences are the default presentation language and the content itself which is from the chosen Edition.
Whilst the application display language (navigational elements and labeling) can be switched to any of the options in the header dropdown list, the SNOMED CT Spanish Edition content itself will always show in Spanish.
In the SCT Browser Full perspective, press the Expression tab in the Concept Details panel.

Searching and browsing
From the Full perspective view, the selected local extension content can be browsed and searched as described in Browse SNOMED CT International Edition concepts. The SCT Browser functionality is identical whichever version of SNOMED CT is being browsed; the differences are the default presentation language and the content itself which is from the selected local extension. Whilst the application display language (navigational elements and labelling) can be switched to any of the options in the header dropdown list, the local extension content itself will always show in the preferred language of the extension (where International terms are used but not yet translated, they will show the International US English term).
Denying Cookie Policy consent may make related features unavailable.
On first opening the SCT Browser site, a pop-dialogue is presented with the SNOMED International SNOMED CT Browser License Agreement.
Use the text box vertical scrollbar to view the full content of the agreement.
Press Accept to clear the dialogue and view the SCT Browser landing page.
If you do not accept the License Agreement, press Reject.
Your web browser will then be redirected to the SNOMED International website.
The pop-up dialogue is modal - either Accept or Reject must be pressed to proceed.
The SCT Browser landing page is presented, with the following content sections:
Introduction, aims and terms of service provision for the SCT Browser, including a note that the site is optimised for the Google Chrome web browser (it will not work with the now deprecated Internet Explorer).

In the Search panel, find the first concept to be compared (as described in or ).
Selecting a search result will load that concept into the Concept Details panel, within which all the context details tabs are available, as in the Perspective: Full presentation.
In the Search Results list, press and hold the result row for the first concept to be compared. The selected row will be highlighted in blue, and a "Drag this" tooltip will appear.
Whilst holding the cursor selection, drag the selected item onto the left-hand Taxonomy panel.
Whilst dragging, the concept FSN term will appear alongside the cursor arrow.
When the cursor is over the Taxonomy panel "drop-zone" a drop-target symbol will appear.
Release the cursor hold to "drop" the concept.

The left-hand Taxonomy panel will now show a hierarchical tree view focused on the dropped concept.

Now use the Search panel again to find the desired comparison concept, and repeat the same steps to select, drag and drop, but this time drag the comparison concept to the right-hand Taxonomy panel.

The two Taxonomy context panel hierarchies can now be compared side-by-side.
Each hierarchy can be navigated individually (as described in [Browse SNOMED CT International Edition concepts](Browse-SNOMED-CT-International-Edition-concepts_154250246.html)).
Following a concept link in either Taxonomy panel will load that concept into the Concept Details panel, allowing deeper analysis via its context details tabs if needed.
The two Concept Details context tabs can be navigated independently whilst retaining their focus concept for side-by-side comparisons of the information in each context tab.

Following another search result will load that concept into the Concept Details panel, regardless of the current status of the Taxonomy panels, which remain unchanged until either their hierarchy navigation is used, or another concept is dragged and dropped to change their focus.

Once done with comparisons, select `Full` in the header bar `Perspective` button drop-down options list to switch back to `Perspective: Full`.

Perspective: Comparing hierarchy maintains the browser header bar, but changes to show two side-by-side Taxonomy panels, with a Search panel below the left-hand Taxonomy panel and a Concept Details panel below the right-hand Taxonomy panel.
The Search panel is identical in features and behaviour to that of Perspective: Full, primarily for the purpose of populating the two Taxonomy panels, although it can also be used to load and view concepts in the Concept Details panel just as in Perspective: Full.
Following a search result link does not change Taxonomy focus
Following a search result in `Perspective: Comparing hierarchy` changes the focus concept in the Concept Details panel, but does not change the focus concept in a Taxonomy panel.
Drag and drop can be used across the Taxonomy panels
If desired, a concept in one Taxonomy panel can also be dragged and dropped into the other to change its focus concept.
In selecting it for drag and drop, that concept will also be loaded into the Concept Details panel.
Find the desired domain name in the Domain panel of the MRCM Maintenance Tool.
Press the name to change the context of the Applicable Attributes panel to those matching the domain, and also expand the Domain Details sub-panel at the base of the Domain panel.
The selected domain name is highlighted.
The Domain Details sub-panel contains:

The Applicable Attributes list can be filtered by typing a text pattern into the Filter Attributes... box.
As soon as text is entered, the attributes list will update to only show those matching the filter text.

Panel sizes can be adjusted
The relative sizes of the four panels can be adjusted by pressing and dragging their grey border bars.
This can be useful to maximise a particular panel if the default sizes cause some desired viewing content to be hidden whilst comparing.
The panels can also be scrolled vertically independently to alleviate such situations.

If a sub-domain is selected, the Applicable Attributes results will show all those applicable to its parent domain, however only those applicable to the selected sub-domain will be active in the list.Any attributes not applicable to the selected sub-domain will be inactive, and moving the cursor onto them will show a symbol, indicating they cannot be viewed for the selected sub-domain.

On selecting an applicable attribute, a search is performed to retrieve all concepts matching the range constraints.
After a brief pause (search time depends on the complexity of the search and number of results obtained) the results are presented in a sub-panel at the base of the Attribute Range panel.
The Attribute Details sub-panel can be toggled closed/open when an attribute is selected.
When open, press __on the right of the sub-panel title bar to close the Attribute Details sub-panel.
When closed, press in the sub-panel title bar to open it.
The main panel and each row item on the Details tab has a corresponding information icon button.
Press this button to see a pop-up overlay with additional details:
Concept (main panel): Effective Time and ModuleId.Descriptions : DescriptionId, Type, Language, Case Significance, Effective Time and ModuleId.Relationships : TypeId, TargetId, Modifier, EffectiveTime and ModuleId.
Multiple information overlays can be opened at the same time by pressing each relevant icon button in sequence.
Pressing anywhere within the Concept Details panel outside an information overlay will close all open overlays.
In the SCT Browser Full perspective, press the History tab in the Concept Details panel.
The Concept Details panel updates to show a chronological listing (by SNOMED CT version date) of published versions of the focus concept.
Each list row shows:
Version (date in YYYY-MM-DD format).
Type of Change, showing what type of concept details were modified in that version.
In the SCT Browser Full perspective, press the Refsets tab in the Concept Details panel.
The Concept Details panel updates to show the following:
Concept SCTID and FSN.
Open maps for this concept button.
Definition Status icon and Reference Set name.
Map Refset identifier (only if applicable; blank if not).

Press Open maps for this concept to open the _SNOMED CT Mapping Tool (in a new web browser tab/window) focused on the concept, showing to see any relevant published map records.
Press on a listing row to see a pop-up overlay with the following additional details:
RefsetId
EffectiveTime
ModuleId.
Multiple overlays can be opened at the same time.
Press anywhere within the Concept Details panel outside a pop-up overlay to close all open overlays.
Press a Version entry to switch all Concept Details to those published in that version.
An additional label including the version date is appended to the Concept Details panel title to maintain context whilst browsing the historical details.
Navigate around the historical details as needed using the Concept Details panel context tabs.
Changed items highlighting
When viewing the Details tab, an item that is highlighted with a blue dotted border means that item change was first published in the version being viewed.
In the Details tab, additional metadata can be viewed for each item via the grey icon buttons to the right of the relevant item row.
Moving the cursor over the button will highlight it in blue.
In the Details tab, when highlighted, press to see a pop-over table of information for that item, including its Effective Time (publication change date).
The Effective Time of highlighted items will match the historical version currently being viewed.
Press at the end of the Concept Details panel title when viewing a historical version to restore the panel contents to the latest published version (the additional label will be cleared).
Changing focus also resets to latest version
Historical details will also be cleared if the Concept Details focus concept is changed.
Press Feedback in the SCT Browser page header to report issues or submit change requests related to usability and features.

Search or browse to a SNOMED CT Reference Set concept and set that as the Concept Details focus concept.
In the SCT Browser Full perspective, press the Members tab in the Concept Details panel.
The Concept Details panel updates show a listing of the Reference Set member concepts.
Each member list entry contains the following:
Definition Status icon and FSN.
Preferred Term
Each listing entry on the Members tab works in the same way as the left hand panel Search tab results - press anywhere in the result row to switch to it as the Concept Details focus concept.
Members listing are paged when there are more than 100 entries (to moderate the server load for larger results sets).To see more entries, scroll down to the end of the listing, to see a Load # more link below the last listing entry (the # value will either be 100 or the remaining number if less than 100).
The link label also indicates the number of entries remaining to be shown.
Press Load # more as needed to see remaining entries.
If more than 100 are still to be shown, on pressing Load # more the next 100 entries will be appended to the end of the listing, and the link text will update to show the number remaining.
If less than 100 are still to be shown, they will all be loaded, the members total will be be shown below the final entry, and the Load # more link will no longer be present.
The entire results set can then be scrolled in the Members tab listing.
Members listings only apply to Reference Sets
This tab only becomes populated when the Concept Details focus is on a Reference Set concept.
If the Members tab is opened for a focus concept that is not a Reference Set, the listing will be empty, with only a header row stating "This concept has no members".
The Domain Details sub-panel can be toggled closed/open when a domain name is selected.
When open, press
The listed domains can be filtered by typing match text into the Filter Domains... text box above the list..
Matching begins as soon as the first character is entered, and progressively filters as further characters are entered.
To cancel the domain filtering either delete the entered text, or move the cursor to the far right of the text entry box to reveal an X button, then press the X button to clear the entire text and re-show all domains..
Alternatively, press RESET to the right of the context and actions bar (upper right corner above the three main content panels).
Since this action button also clears other selections such as Attributes and Attribute Ranges, a pop-up panel is presented to confirm the request..
Press RESET in the confirmation panel to clear all three content panels back to their initial view state, or press CANCEL to return to the current view without clearing.

The header contains site branding and an MRCM version selector to its left (the default selection is the current authoring cycle content, ie the MRCM content for the next SNOMED CT release).
To its right is the the authenticated account name, which when pressed expands the header downwards to reveal a Logout <i class="fa-arrow-up-right-from-square">:arrow-up-right-from-square:</i> link (pressing the account name toggles the link visibility).
Follow that link to log out and exit the application (this returns you to the IMS Login screen).
Below the header, the context and actions bar runs across the three main content panels. Currently selected items appear to the left of this bar (initially empty when nothing is selected), and a RESET button is available to its right (this clears any selections and initialises the content panels).
The Domain panel shows a nested tree-view listing of SNOMED CT domains.
Navigate the tree-view listing to browse the domains.By default the Applicable Attributes panel shows all available attributes.
When an applicable attribute is selected, the Attribute Range panel shows that attribute's range details.
The footer contains a copyright notice, help link (which opens the MRCM Maintenance Tool section of this use guide), and a contact us link (identical to that in the Authoring Platform footer).
The domain names are active - pressing one will change the context of the Applicable Attributes panel to those matching the domain, and also expand the Domain Details subpanel at the base of the Domain panel.

All Concept Details tabs include a toggle button to select either the `Stated` or `Inferred` view of the concept modelling. The default view is `Inferred` , indicated by its button being highlighted with a blue background.
When a view button is highlighted, pressing the other view button will switch to that view and also swap the button highlighting to match.Switching from one to the other does not change the tab selection, however tab content will adapt to show the relevant view.
The selection persists across all Concept Details tabs until switched again.

Whilst the descriptions remain the same for both views, the `Stated` view has fewer Axioms, with an additional Axiom included in the `Inferred` view (added through classification of the concept).

A result entry is generated for all pattern matches to the search query in a concept's lexical model descriptions, regardless of type, so the label in the first column may also be an FSN as well as the Preferred Term and other active synonyms.

Larger concept model diagrams will add scrollbars to the diagram as needed if it cannot be shown completely within the content area.

The results will not match an SCTID until a valid SCTID number is entered as the query, however other numbers entered may be matched against numeric content in the concept terms.
Each result row represents a SNOMED CT concept matching the search query, with a Definition Status icon followed by any term that pattern matches the query (FSN, Preferred Term, and synonyms) in the first results column; the second column shows the concept FSN.

The concept Preferred Term is indicated by an "S" (for Synonym) followed by in the Term column, and also the word "Preferred" in the Acceptability column.
Press Download Diagram to reveal two further buttons for downloading the diagram in either PNG or SVG format.
Press the appropriate button to download the desired format image file to your local machine.
Browse older versions of the MRCM
Use the header Version drop-down selector to set the version of MRCM to be browsed.
The SNOMED CT International release versions are shown with the format MAIN/YYY-MM-DD which is the label of the Snowstorm Terminology Server content branch containing each release. The selection defaults to the most recent version, with options to select previous published versions in chronological order.

The Full perspective first opens to the Search tab in the left-hand context panel, with the Concept Details - Summary tab for 404684003 | Clinical finding (finding) | shown in the right-hand content panel.
The detault presentation language is English (en-US), and the concept details default to showing the US English language reference set FSN and synonyms.
Press the Taxonomy tab in the left-hand panel to show a hierarchical representation of SNOMED CT concepts.
The left-hand content panel changes focus to the Taxonomy view, showing an expandable/collapsible tree navigator of SNOMED CT concepts.
This can be considered as an "inverted tree", expanding outwards and downwards from the "root" concept 138875005 | SNOMED CT Concept (SNOMED RT+CTV3) |.
When first opened, the Taxonomy is presented with 404684003 | Clinical finding (finding) | as its focus concept, which has 138875005 | SNOMED CT Concept (SNOMED RT+CTV3) | as its parent.
The focus concept is the second topmost entry, with its parent as the topmost, and its children concepts expanded below it.
Each child node is initially shown "collapsed", so only immediate descendants of the focus concept are visible.
SNOMED CD is a directed graph of concepts
Although the linear Taxonony is a convenient tool to browse SNOMED CT concepts via a two-dimensional tree view, it is a simplified representation based on the "proximal primitive parent" Is a Axiom relationships between concepts.
Each concept entry in the Taxonomy view has a Definition Status icon followed by the concept FSN.
Press a concept entry once to load it into the right-hand panel as its focus concept.<.p>
Double-press a concept entry to re-focus the Taxonomy view on that concept.
The tree navigator changes to only show the concept entry with its parent concept above and children below.
To navigate around the concepts, use the blue icon buttons to the left of each concept entry.
moves focus "up" the (inverted) tree (if the topmost concept is not 138875005 | SNOMED CT Concept (SNOMED RT+CTV3) | - if it is then no changes are made).
expands the tree to show the children of a concept.
collapses the tree to hide the children of a concept.
indicates a "leaf" node in the tree - a concept that has no descendants (so no changes are made).

Perspective: Comparing maintains the browser header bar, but changes to show two side-by-side Concept Details panels, with a full-width Search panel below them.
When invoked with a concept already in the Perspective: Full Concept Details panel, the focus concept will be preserved in both Perspective: Comparing Concept Details panels.</br />
Panel sizes can be adjusted
The relative sizes of the three panels can be adjusted by pressing and dragging their gray border bars.
When comparing historical versions, it is useful to reduce the Search panel height once concepts are loaded for comparison, as shown in the adjacent screenshot.
Reloading clears Perspective: Comparing
Reloading the page will reset the SCT Browser to the Perspective: Full default presentation.
With the same focus concept in each Concept Details panel, use their History context tab to change their content to a historical version, as described in View the history of a SNOMED CT concept.
The two Concept Details context tabs can now be used to independently select alternative versions from the concept history, so that they can be compared side-by-side.
Once done with comparisons, select Full in the header bar Perspective button drop-down options list to switch back to Perspective: Full.
The comparison focus concept will be retained in the Perspective: Full Concept Details panel, however, it will be reset to the latest published version.
From any view in the SCT Browser, press >on thePerspective button in the header bar to see a drop-down options list of available perspectives:

Perspective: Comparing maintains the browser header bar, but changes to show two side-by-side Concept Details panels, with a full-width Search panel below them.
The Search panel is simply an expanded full-width version of the Search panel in Perspective: Full, with identical features and behaviour, for the purpose of populating the two Concept Details panels.
Reloading clears Perspective: Comparing
Reloading the page will reset the SCT Browser to the Perspective: Full default presentation.
In the Search panel, find the first concept to be compared (as described in Find the SCTID for a known concept term or Find the FSN or PT for a known concept SCTID).
In the Search Results list, press and hold the result row for the first concept to be compared.
The selected row will be highlighted in blue, and a "Drag this" tooltip will appear.
Whilst holding the cursor selection, drag the selected item onto the concept Summary FSN label in the blue details box in the left-hand Concept Details panel Summary tab.
Whilst dragging, the concept FSN term will appear alongside the cursor arrow.
When the cursor is over the Summary FSN label "drop-zone" a drop-target symbol will appear.
Release the cursor hold to "drop" the concept. Following a search result link also sets the first comparison focus The left-hand Concept Details can also be populated by simply clicking on a search result.
The left-hand panel will now show the Concept Details Summary tab for the dropped concept, and all the other context tabs can be navigated within the left-hand panel whilst maintaining the dropped concept focus.
Now use the Search panel again to find the desired comparison concept, and repeat the same steps to select, drag and drop, but this time drag the comparison concept to the Summary box of the right-hand Concept Details panel.
Following a search result link will not set the second comparison focus concept
The right-hand Concept Details can only be populated by drag and drop from the results list.
Pressing a search result will only populate the left-hand Concept Details panel, which could lose focus on a comparison concept already placed there.Drag and drop works from any selected concept link in view
As well as using search results entries, each Concept Details can also be populated by drag and drop from the FSN label link in the other Concept Details, to show the same concept in each.
This is an alternative way to set up side-by-side comparison of historical versions if already in Perspective: Comparing.
The two Concept Details context tabs can now be compared side-by-side.
