# record service

## record service

A software function that captures, stores, retrieves, displays, communicates or processes electronic health records.

#### Notes

* *Record service* are typically specific to the design of a specific clinical information system as this affect the nature of the services required to capture, store, retrieve, display and process records.\_\

* *Record services* interact with terminology services to support capture, retrieval and processing of SNOMED CT encoded data.
